Inspiring and Caring
Barbara Nakazawa, known for greatly inspiring her students, has been a private flute teacher for over 30 years. In addition to flute instruction, Barbara also teaches piccolo, flute choir, chamber music, and flute performance classes.
Goal oriented and organized, her students continue to win top positions in honorary ensembles such as All State, District, Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble, and Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Patient and caring she establishes life-long relationships with her students of all ages and their families.
Dedicated and Experienced
Having taught in both New York and Boston, she has been on the faculties of The Brookline Music School, Newton Public School Music Program, Powers Music School, The Roosa School of Music, Dexter Southfield School, and The New England Conservatory Summer Program. She received a Bachelor of Music in flute performance from The Boston Conservatory of Music.
Her mentors include Lois Schaefer, Virginia Sindelar, Paul Fried, Alexander Murray, Bernard Goldberg, Paul Gray, Harold Jones, Max Schoenfeld, and Francis Blaisdell.
Ms Nakazawa has performed with the Citibank Series in New York and with the Brookline Symphony, Cambridge Symphony, Symphony by the Sea and Cape Ann Symphony.
